Well-known for its sugar white sands and emerald green waters, this former military reservation has over one-and-a-half miles of beaches on the Gulf of Mexico and Grand Lagoon. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, and canoeing. Two fishing piers, a jetty, and a boat ramp provide ample fishing opportunities for anglers. Two nature trails wind through a rich diversity of coastal plant communities - a splendid opportunity for bird-watching. Camp Helen State Park
Camp Helen is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico on three sides, and by Lake Powell, one of the largest coastal dune lakes in Florida. Prehistoric middens and mounds indicate that humans inhabited the area more than 4,000 years ago. From 1945 until 1987 Camp Helen was a company resort for the employees of an Alabama textile mill. Some of those buildings have now been restored. The 180-acre park is for day use only. Activities include swimming, beachcombing, nature study, hiking and both freshwater and saltwater fishing.

Sea Breeze Winery
SeaBreeze Winery is centrally located on the west end of Hutchison
Blvd/Middle Beach Road on beautiful Panama City Beach. After
years of preparation the winery opened in July 2003.
The grapes are brought to this facility where crushing,
pressing and fermentation take place in temperature
controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine making process is
carefully monitored in the on premises lab to insure the
highest quality. In the summer following harvest the wines
will be bottled on the wineries small but modern bottling
line.
Visitors are frequently able to observe the many operations
of making fine wine as the processes are under way while tours
are being given.

I have always had a love of flying. I started flying fixed wing back in 1979 but life took me in a different direction. While stationed in Panama City as a diving instructor for the U.S. Navy I decided to take up flying again, this time helicopters. I received my commercial helicopter license in 2006 and as my retirement from the Navy was coming near, this business became available. I can’t imagine doing anything else right now. I’ve got the best job on the beach.

Shell Island Shuttle
The Shell Island Shuttle carries passengers between St. Andrews State Park and Shell Island every 1/2 hour, 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We also offer a snorkel package and kayak rentals.

Shell Island is a natural, undeveloped island which lies between the Gulf of Mexico and St. Andrews Bay and is located in Bay County, Florida (Panama City - Panama City Beach). We are the largest Sanctuary in Bay County. The Sanctuary is a unique place to visit and is open to the public. Should you find an injured or orphaned wild animal, we invite you to bring the animal to us for their specific needs. To rescue, raise, rehabilitate and release orphaned, injured, and displaced wildlife. We can provide a Sanctuary for non-releasable animals, both native and non-native and we strive to provide educational experiences to the community, allowing for a greater understanding and appreciation of wildlife.

Our Captains have years of experience in the area, all hold a U.S. Coast Guard Masters License . Capt. Richard Gregg is also a retired Airline Captain with over 45 years of experience flying (he also flys the Alaskan Seaplane on premises giving rides over Panama City Beach for over 17 years). Capt. Debi Gregg was raised in the Everglades area and has been doing Backwater Eco Tours here for over 4 years. Their daughter Capt. Amanda Owens started as a Deckhand doing Airboat Tours and earned her Masters in 2005. Even our Deckhands are highly trained professionals and we always put safety first. We hope to leave you having had alot of fun but, also with a greater knowledge and appreciation for the animals and their habitat.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not!® Panama City Beach, FL is one Florida’s favorite indoor attractions. Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum Panama City area location is more than just a museum of the strange and the unusual, but a collection of oddities housed in what appears to be a sinking ship, the S.S. Ripley. The oddity museum known as Ripley’s Believe It or Not Odditorium houses the bizarre, the macabre, the one-of-a-kind exhibits that have made the late Robert Ripley famous. The collection of rarities from moon rocks returned to the earth’s surface by Apollo astronauts to the Berlin Wall remnants salvaged from the rubble in 1990 that long separated East from West are compelling.
Interactive exhibits at the Ripleys Believe It or Not Museum challenge the most nimble participants with the Laser Race, a myriad of laser beams strategically placed from wall-to-wall and ceiling-to-floor creating a near Mission Impossible task to accomplish. Players must traverse this laser light beamed course without breaking a laser light beam - all under the pressure of a digital time clock.
